Pense-bête keeps what you must not forget in view: a reminder, a name, the task at hand. Its notes float below your MacBook's notch or wherever you like, on every desktop, above other windows. And they let you work: they only take the keyboard while you write in them.

A sticky note that stays put
Pense-bête lives in the menu bar, with no Dock icon. Your notes stay exactly where you put them.
Multiple notes
As many notes as you like, each with its own text, colors and place. The menu bar menu lists them and shows or hides each one.
Text or checklist
One line per item; click the circle to check it off, without entering edit mode, and the item stays visible, struck through. A right-click turns a note from text to checklist and back.
Write without surprises
Double-click to write, ⌘↩ to save, Esc to cancel. A single click changes nothing: no accidental edits. The note grows with its text, then scrolls.
Your style
Six color presets (yellow, pink, green, blue, purple, graphite) or your own colors; background opacity, text size and weight, alignment, width, corner radius.
Below the notch or anywhere
Centered below the notch, in a corner, or wherever you drag it, on the display you choose. Display unplugged: the note moves to the main display, then goes back.
Discreet
Let clicks pass through: you click right through the note, and ⌥ gives it back to you. Optionally, the notes on a display step aside when an app goes full screen there.

Show or hide all
Every note steps aside in one move, and comes back with the same move.
Create a note
A new note appears, ready to type; ⌘↩ saves it and you are back in the app you were using.
No Accessibility permission: shortcuts use the standard macOS mechanism. Rule: ⌃, or ⌘ and ⌥ together (⇧ optional). Pense-bête flags a macOS shortcut, or one that another app has reserved.

Install
Get Pense-bête from the Mac App Store: it settles in the menu bar, and a first note waits for you below the notch.
Double-click
Type your reminder, then ⌘↩. The note fits its content and you are back in the app you were using.
Place it
Drag it wherever you like, or choose its place, display and colors: right-click › Style and Position…
Nothing leaves your Mac
Pense-bête makes no Internet connection: ElpisIA receives nothing you write. Your notes stay in the app's folder on your Mac, and no special permission is requested. Details are in the privacy policy.
