Privacy Policy

ReplayMe runs on your iPhone, with no account and no server. ElpisIA receives no data from the app.

Data controller: David Defoy, sole trader (French entrepreneur individuel, EI), trading as ElpisIA — Logement 5, 383 chemin du Bac, 60610 Lacroix-Saint-Ouen, France — SIREN 533 168 647.

This policy covers ReplayMe 1.0. Version of October 18, 2026.

What the app collects

Nothing. No account, no telemetry, no usage statistics, no advertising, no trackers, no third-party service. The app connects to no server: its only exchanges are those of nearby sharing, from iPhone to iPhone, described below.

Where your data lives

  • The clips you film or import and the finished replays are stored in the app's private space, on your iPhone. They are excluded from the iPhone's backups (iCloud or computer).
  • The list of your moments and your profile (first name, avatar, settings) are stored in the same place. They are part of the iPhone's backups, so that a restored iPhone is still recognized in your moments.
  • Your first name and avatar are only used to introduce you to the participants of your moments, and to nearby iPhones when you share a moment (see below).
  • You delete the replays, one moment or all moments from the app. Uninstalling the app erases all of this data from the iPhone.

Nearby sharing

A moment is shared directly between nearby iPhones, over Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth (MultipeerConnectivity, Apple's technology for exchanges between nearby devices), with no internet and no server. Each link is encrypted by iOS.

  • Star-shaped: each participant connects to the organizer's iPhone, and to it alone. The organizer relays the clips and the moment's details to the participants it has admitted; participants do not connect to each other.
  • What travels: the clips (videos and photos) and the moment's details: its name, the place typed in, its date, the participants' first names and avatars, the detected highlights and the edit settings. The finished replays and your music stay on your iPhone.
  • Who receives it: the admitted participants of the moment, and them alone. The organizer chooses who can get in:
    • Private: only the people given the organizer's QR code or invitation link; the 4-digit code alone is refused;
    • Friends: the organizer's QR code or link lets people in directly; with the code alone, the organizer accepts or declines each arrival;
    • Public: any nearby iPhone with ReplayMe can get in, and the moment's name shows in the « Nearby » list.
    The organizer can remove a participant at any time: that person receives nothing more and cannot come back. What they had already received stays on their iPhone.
  • What nearby iPhones see: while sharing, the organizer's iPhone announces itself nearby with its first name and avatar, the 4-digit code and the moment's access level. The moment's name is only announced for a Public moment. Nothing else is visible before admission.
  • The invitation key: the organizer's QR code and link carry a secret key. It never travels over the network: the iPhone that joins proves it knows the key, without sending it. « Renew the invitation » replaces it, and the old QR codes and links stop working.
  • Nothing is published elsewhere without an action from you: it is the iOS share sheet, opened by you, that sends a replay to another app. What a participant does with a clip they received (saving it, sharing it) is up to them.

Video analysis

Sound and picture analysis, highlight detection, the music and the edit are computed on your iPhone, using Apple's built-in frameworks. No image and no sound is sent to an online service, neither to ElpisIA nor to a third party.

Notifications

ReplayMe only shows local notifications, created by the iPhone itself: a replay is ready when the edit finished in the background and, for the organizer, a join request when the moment is not on screen. No notification goes through a server.

System permissions

  • Camera: to film your clips and scan QR codes.
  • Microphone: for the sound of the clips, which also helps spot the highlights. Without it, clips are silent.
  • Photos: to import the photos and videos you choose, and to save your replays to your photo library.
  • Local Network: to find nearby iPhones and share a moment with its participants.
  • Notifications: see above.

These permissions can be denied or withdrawn at any time in the iOS Settings. Denying the local network only disables sharing between iPhones; the rest of the app still works.

Your rights

ElpisIA holds no data about you through ReplayMe: there is nothing to access, correct or erase on our side.
