The travellers' community: a world map of over 10,000 places recommended by travellers, a forum with one discussion per place and a section per country, and an iPhone app to keep your favourite spots, even without signal. Finding your car again, the transit alarm, the currency converter and transport maps are part of the app too.
The starter pages sum up, in our own words and with the date of the account, recommendations published by travellers on public forums. The next ones will come from travellers themselves: in the app, a place stays private until you choose to make it public.
From its forum discussion, from one to five stars, once signed in to your account. Clicking your rating again removes it. The average and the number of ratings show on the place's page on the map.
Not for the app: your places, your car and the travel tools work without an account. A free account is only needed for the community: posting on the forum, rating a place and, in the app, publishing or commenting on a place.
Yes for your places: they are stored on the iPhone, and offline maps stay readable without signal. Walking back to your car only uses the GPS and the compass. The forum and the community's places, on the other hand, load over the internet.
Only if you ask it to: automatic car detection (off by default) and the transit alarm use your position in the background. Your positions stay on the iPhone; only what you choose to publish in the community goes online.
The app is available in French, English, Spanish, Italian and German. The repoya.com website, its map and its forum exist in French, English, Spanish and German.
