Repoya works on your iPhone. Your location is never sent to ElpisIA, except that of a place you choose to publish in the community.

This page summarises the Repoya privacy policy. The full version is published on repoya.com: Repoya privacy policy; if the two ever differ, the full version prevails. This summary follows its version of 13 October 2026.
Without an account, nothing is collected
No telemetry, no usage statistics, no advertising, no tracker: without an account, ElpisIA receives no data from Repoya. Your positions, your places, your folders, their notes and photos, and your vehicles stay in the app's private storage, on your iPhone. An Apple Watch receives from the iPhone your car's last position and at most the ten latest positions of the history, with no photo and no licence plate. Deleting the app erases this data.
Your location
It is used on the device: to save your car or a place, to show your dot on the map, and to guide you back. By default, Repoya does not track your movements in the background. Two features do, and only if you turn them on: automatic car detection, when the car's Bluetooth disconnects, and the transit alarm, while it is active. Neither records a journey or sends the positions it measures.
What leaves the device, outside the community
None of these exchanges sends your data to ElpisIA:
- base maps (OpenFreeMap, and IGN aerial photographs if you choose the satellite map): the server sees which area is requested;
- address search, and in three specific cases looking up the country and city of a position, through Apple's mapping service;
- exchange rates for the currency converter, requested from Frankfurter, with no identifier and no cookie;
- the transport map catalogue, downloaded from repoya.com at most once a day, and the maps themselves, from each network's website, when you ask;
- opening a navigation app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze), which receives the destination.
The community, optional
The account, public places with their comments and ratings, and the forum make up the community side of Repoya, open to people aged 16 and over. This data is processed by ElpisIA on servers hosted in France; it is never sold, rented or used for advertising.
- Your account, the same for the app and for the repoya.com forum: a username, which is public; an email address, never displayed, used to confirm the account, reset the password and send the notifications you turn on; a password, stored only as a fingerprint. In the app, you can also use “Continue with Apple”: Repoya then receives an identifier specific to your Apple Account and your verified email address (or a relay address if you hide it), never your Apple password.
- What is public, readable by everyone in the app, on the forum and through the repoya.com API: the places you share (name, exact position, type, country, city, description), your comments, the average and number of 1-to-5-star ratings, your forum discussions and posts with attached images, videos and files, and your public profile. Sharing a place is something you do yourself, place by place, and it is permanent: a published place never becomes private again.
- What is never published: your email address, your password, your IP address, your unshared places, your car's positions, your vehicles, your folders, or the private note and photos of a place.
- Moderation: you can report a place, a comment, a post or a member, and block a member. Moderators review reports within 24 hours. The forum keeps the IP address of each post for one year, as the law requires of hosts; only the moderators can see it.
- On the website, Google reCAPTCHA (sign-up) and the forum's YouTube or Vimeo players only load if you turn them on; the forum only sets the cookies it needs to work.
Deleting your account
In the app (Profile tab) or, if you do not use the app, through the contact form. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it erases your account, your sessions and the IP addresses linked to them. What you have published stays online, without your name, signed “Former member”: delete first anything you want removed. An account not signed in to for three years is deleted in the same way. The data on your iPhone is not affected. Details: account deletion.
System permissions
- Location, while using the app: to save and find your car and your places. “Always”: only for automatic detection and the transit alarm, requested when you turn them on.
- Camera: to attach photos to your places. Optional.
- Notifications and alarms: to announce an automatic save, and to wake you as your stop approaches.
You can withdraw these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, erase it, receive a copy or object to its processing through the contact form; we reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or with the data protection authority of your country.
