Plug your iPad in over USB, click “Launch”: QuickTime Player shows the iPad's screen full size on your external monitor, or on the Mission Control desktop you choose. A “Stop” button closes everything cleanly.

Features
The iPad (or iPhone) plugged in over USB is spotted among QuickTime's sources and selected by default; the other cameras stay available in the menu.
Displays are detected live: plug in, unplug, the list updates. Several displays? The largest is offered first.
Send the capture to a specific desktop (Desktop 3, Desktop 8…), numbered as in Mission Control, instead of native full screen.
After every successful launch, the configuration (source, desktop, display) is remembered: next time, a single button.
A slower Mac? “Slow” mode doubles the waiting time between steps, and QuickTime keeps up.
“Stop” closes the recording without saving anything and quits QuickTime: no orphan window, no stray video file.
How it goes
- You plug the iPad in. Over USB, then you accept “Trust This Computer” on the iPad.
- You pick the destination. An external display, or a Mission Control desktop. ScreenConf has already spotted the iPad.
- You click “Launch setup”. QuickTime opens, picks the source, moves to the right place, goes full screen.
- You are done. “Stop” closes QuickTime and puts everything back in order.
Why QuickTime?
QuickTime Player can show the screen of an iPad connected over USB, with no lag and no Wi-Fi compression: that is its “New Movie Recording” feature, with the iPad as the camera. But every time you have to open QuickTime, pull down the source menu, pick the iPad, drag the window to the right display and go full screen. ScreenConf performs those steps for you, driving QuickTime through macOS automation. Nothing is recorded: recording is never started, only the preview is shown.
