Privacy Policy

ScreenConf runs entirely on your Mac. No data leaves the device.

Data controller: David Defoy, sole trader (French entrepreneur individuel, EI), trading as ElpisIA — Logement 5, 383 chemin du Bac, 60610 Lacroix-Saint-Ouen, France — SIREN 533 168 647.

What the app collects

No usage data: no telemetry, no statistics, no account to create. The only network exchange is licence activation: the app sends the ElpisIA shop your licence key and an anonymous fingerprint of your Mac (a hashed hardware identifier, no name, no address), and receives a token it then verifies offline. That token is revalidated now and then the same way. Nothing else leaves your Mac.

Where your data lives

  • The Quick Setup (source name, desktop, display) and the launch speed are stored locally in the app's preferences.
  • Your iPad's picture is shown by QuickTime Player, Apple's app: ScreenConf does not see it, record it or transmit it. Recording is never started.
  • The list of sources (iPad, cameras) is read from QuickTime's menu at detection time, then kept in memory only.

System permissions

  • Accessibility: lets the app drive QuickTime Player's interface (source menu, full screen). Used only during a launch, a detection or a stop.
  • Automation: lets the app send commands to QuickTime Player and System Events. Same use.

You grant these permissions in System Settings and can withdraw them at any time.

What QuickTime Player does

QuickTime Player is an Apple application, covered by Apple's privacy policy. ScreenConf only opens it, picks the source and places its window.
