Privacy Policy

Touchdown asks for no account and has no server: your logbook stays on your devices and, if you turn it on, in your private iCloud. This page says exactly what stays with you and the few cases where something leaves the device.

Publisher: David Defoy, sole trader (French entrepreneur individuel, EI), trading as ElpisIA — Logement 5, 383 chemin du Bac, 60610 Lacroix-Saint-Ouen, France — SIREN 533 168 647 (Touchdown by FL330). Version: 22 October 2026, for Touchdown 1.0 on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

No account, no server

There is no sign-up, no username and no password. ElpisIA and FL330 run no server that would receive your logbook: we see neither your flights, nor your licences, nor the people you fly with. The app contains no audience measurement, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party kit of that kind. We sell or share no data.

What stays on your device

  • Your logbook: flights, times, airports, aircraft and types, simulators, operators, names of the crew members you enter, remarks.
  • Your profile: licences, ratings, medicals, certificates, military service periods, the pilot's signature.
  • Examiners' and instructors' signatures, photos of your aircraft (reduced and without their location), attachments.
  • Automatic backups, kept in the app's storage, and your settings.
  • For the widgets and the Live Activity, a short summary (totals, next expiry, flight in progress) in the app's shared storage, on the device.

The demo logbook lives in memory only: nothing of it is saved.

iCloud sync (optional)

Off by default, it is turned on in More › iCloud Sync. Your logbook is then copied to the private database of your iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit), so you find it on your own iPhone, iPad and Mac. ElpisIA cannot access this database: it is managed by Apple under its own privacy policy, and you can delete it at any time (see the data deletion page).

What leaves the device, and to whom

Only in the following cases, and never to ElpisIA:

  • Airport weather — when you open an airport sheet, Touchdown asks the Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov, NOAA) for its METAR and TAF. The airport's ICAO code is sent, with your connection's IP address as for any Internet request; nothing from your logbook.
  • Public aircraft photo — when you search for one, the registration (or a military aircraft's serial number) is sent to Planespotters.net; when a linked photo is shown, the image is downloaded from Planespotters.net. The image is never saved in your logbook; only the photographer's name and the link to their page are.
  • Maps — the flight globe, the route map and the airport sheet are drawn by Apple Maps (MapKit): Apple receives the map area displayed, as for any app that shows a map.
  • iCloud sync — if you turn it on (above).
  • "Write to Us" — in More › Help, Touchdown prepares an email in your mail app: you review it and send it yourself. The attached diagnostics, which you see as they are and can remove, contain only the app and system versions, the device model, the language, the number of flights and the state of sync, backups and lock — never a flight, a name, a licence, an airport or the device name.
  • What you export or share — PDF, CSV, JSON, backup, flight résumé, globe image: they go wherever you send them.

Permissions

  • Camera: to photograph your aircraft, when you ask; the photo is reduced and saved without its location.
  • Photos: the system picker gives Touchdown only the images you choose.
  • Face ID or Touch ID: only if you turn on the lock; recognition stays in the device, Touchdown only receives the answer.

Touchdown does not ask for your location.

Purchases

Touchdown is free. If in-app purchases are offered one day, they will be handled by Apple (App Store): ElpisIA receives no payment data.

The people in your logbook

The names of crew members, examiners and instructors you enter stay in your logbook, on your devices and in your private iCloud. Keep them up to date and record only what the logbook needs.

Your rights

As ElpisIA holds no data about you, you exercise your rights directly on your devices: view, correct, export or delete your logbook. For any question about this policy, write to us through the contact form (subject "Privacy"). You may also contact your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Minors

Touchdown is meant for pilots and student pilots. It collects no data, whatever the age of the person using it.

Changes

If a version of Touchdown changes what leaves the device, this page will be updated before it is released, with its new date.
